I am Living by the Life of Another

As I woke up this morning, earlier than normal, I laid in bed for a short time to hear this refrain, “I am living by the life of Another”. Yes, it’s Sunday morning and the first fruits of the week. Giving Him the first fruits of my lips, I repeat that indeed, I am living by the life of Another.

The classic definition of “zoe” that I adhere to, after pulling from the nuances of Strong’s #2222 is just this. ZOE is the absolute life of God which He has in Himself and gives to us in Christ.

Jhn 5:26
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

God Himself has this life in Himself. And the eternal Word, our Lord Jesus Christ has/had this life in Himself as He walked the earth. And you and I who believe that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead after He died for our sins, have this life. If you have the Son, you have the life (1 Jhn 5:12).

So, not long after our Lord Jesus talked about the life of God – this absolute life that He and the Father have in themselves – He turned to the subject of the eating His flesh and drinking His blood. Communion, koinonia, fellowship. He declares Himself the “living bread”, Strong’s #2198 is zao. Living that life. The bread that allows you to live the life. Verb. Noun. Living the life. Right, the Present Active Participle verb that is both present and active in you who are living that life.

Jhn 6:51
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Communion - Koinonia - Zoe Fellowship song of LIFESo, are you presently and actively living by the Absolute Life of Another? Maybe a good time to do this in remembrance of Him? The Table where the Bread and the Wine, by the light of the Holy Ghost, make Him known to us in the breaking of bread. This the road to Emmaus in Luke 24 where He was made known to them in the breaking of bread.

Jhn 6:53
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life G2222 in you.

I wonder if living by the life of Another could relate to what Jesus talked about the water that He offers whosoever to drink.

Jhn 4:14
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. G2222

Think about the artesian well, that springs up and forth. As needed. Life. Absolute life. And remember that it’s the thief who doesn’t want you to experience the zoe life of God in abundance. That life that was given for the life of the world. In Him we have the life.

Jhn 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, G2222 and that they might have it more abundantly.
